Subsea Epoxy
The LateraL range of subsea curing epoxy is used for a wide range of applications including sealing, patching, grouting and corrosion protection. LateraL supplies a range of different formulations depending on requirements for flexibility, surface adherence and strength.
The images to the right show rehabilitation of a rigid riser. Half shells were attached around the riser and epoxy was pumped into the void between the corroded riser body and the half shell form. The epoxy lifted the water up and out of the void and formed a new protective barrier against water ingress and further corrosion. |
LateraL has deployed the subsea epoxy in a number of different ways using divers and ROV's. The epoxy can be deployed ready mixed or mixed at location. The ROV pumpskid in the image to the left was used to pump epoxy into steel conduit, to secure loose cables and pressure lines. The ROV carried the pump skid with unmixed epoxy to location and activated the hydraulically driven pump. the two components were mixed just before the injection point, increasing the working window and removing the need to resurface between injection points. |
