LateraL is unique in that it primarily seeks domain crossing technology, working on the principle that within the oil and gas domain suppliers and end users are capable of finding each other. The limitations of seeking solutions from within a domain, such as inbuilt conservatism and inward focus on already existing solutions are baggage which is not present in Lateral.This allows total freedom to search for and propose solutions unhampered by these constraints. Lateral operates on several levels from simply acting as a "smart house" aiding the resolution of challenges to developing and participation in joint ventures aimed at exploitation of the technology in the new domain. Domain crossing involves a much greater effort in matching clients needs with the offerings of a supplier unfamiliar with the potential application of his technology. LateraL have a proven track record in the insertion of value adding technology previously utilised exclusively for military purposes into the energy sector. It has been shown on several occasions that existing, proven and even extremely mature technologies from outside the domain can provide solutions to todays energy challenges.
